ATRIUM

Atrium: A Eucharistic Beginning Ages 4 - Young 5’s

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) is an approach to faith formation where children are formed in the Catholic faith in a sacred spaced called “the Atrium”. In the Atrium children prepare for a fuller and more conscious participation in the liturgy. They start to recognize words and gestures of the priest and assembly. They become able, through many repetitions of atrium “works”, to prepare the cruets, wash the hands of the priest, and even dress the altar table.

Atrium: A Eucharistic Beginning is a 10-session experience igniting amazement in the Catholic mass by putting into practice the meanings and symbolisms of its miraculous beauty. Each session hosts a maximum of 8 children during the 5:30p Saturday mass or 11a Sunday mass. Please register for one session only.

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) is an approach to faith formation where children are formed in the Catholic faith in a sacred spaced called the Atrium. In the Atrium children prepare for a fuller and more conscious participation in their Catholic faith. A Eucharistic Beginning bridges the initial recognition of words and gestures to an awareness of the values and understanding of a relationship with God. Led by the gospels of the liturgical year, the Six Tasks of Catechesis are introduced:

  1. Knowledge of the faith

  2. Liturgical education

  3. Moral formation

  4. Teaching to pray

  5. Education for Community Life

  6. Missionary Initiative and Christian Service
